How many of you guys are running budget espresso machines? Im currently using a Russell Hobbs espresso machine which was gifted to me by my uncle and for a budget setup its fantastic!

Nespresso capsules are seriously overpriced, but you get refillable capsules. My machines the traditional type with the portafilter that twists into place.

What grinder do you guys use? And do you use the pressurised or non pressurised portafilter

Honestly I don’t know. The wife bought it and she looks after everything. I just drink the coffee every morning! :)

I use a Bialetti Moka pot .

With a bit of trial and error , I am now able to make a somewhat decent cup.

Im thinking of getting a moka pot for the dreaded load shedding, and using it in a gas stove.

Jura F7 is my daily driver. I've lots of coffee paraphernalia but Mokka pots are pretty darn good. I have a Bialetti something something stainless 6 cup. Works very well, I've got it paired with a conical burr grinder from Hario (I think) and it's my answer to load-shedding brews, why is it that you always crave a cup of coffee when the power goes out? My go to poison is a double espresso so the mokka 6 cup becomes a 1 cup :-)

Fresh roasted beans a must, which reminds me to contact my "dealer" to place another order :old

I use a lot of sabie valley coffee, i have a cheap blade grinder, which grinds it fine enough for a pressurised basket, burni should invest in a burr grinder eventually.

I have to try them, I guess they're upcountry from me with Sabie in the name. I've been getting my beans from https://www.quaffee.com/ for around 7 years and do have a affinity for South American coffees, Warren gets his green beans direct from the farmers and roasts to order. They're on the Buitenverwachten Winefarm

That's pretty interesting, my curiosity is piqued. Do you know what their source was? Or their growing technique, pesticides, drying etc?
