Another superb BBS shave that was so enjoyable. Since my wife packed this wonderful soap as a surprise for me I decided to follow Cloud’s lead and use it. The Prep felt so cooling as well as soothing afterwards. Now I’ll go sit at the pool and read a magazine until Madame gets up!

Nice one Jeff! Enjoy the pool! :)

Thanks Mo!

Now we’re enjoying the beach! ;)

SOTD:
First time using the Fatip Piccolo in about a month and boy did it remind me quickly why its my favourite razor! Even though its a very agressive razor, its a pleasure to shave with and extremely well built, in fact its completely brass and you could buy two for the price of one R41 so definitely value for money!

The gentleman's groom room malt n myrtle performed flawlessly as did the Wilkinson sword brush which is starting to break in nicely.

The Wilkinson sword blade is beautifully smooth and sharp even on shave number four.

Sunday's shave will be the same setup but with my other new brush, the Omega 49, both fantastic brushes!

Razor: Fatip piccolo
Blade: Wilkinson sword (4)
Soap: the gentlemans groom room malt n myrtle
Brush: Wilkinson sword classic shave premium edition boar.
Aftershave Balm: aquaeous creamImage

....... and I'm pleased to say the BIC Metal works remarkably well!

Its blade exposure is aggressive enough that you can get a decent shave, the blade itself is not super keen, it's on a par with a Supermax Blue probably. The very narrow head is very nice to work with, and it's a fixed head. No complaint with the solid bar. Some people won't like it because the whole razor probably weighs only half a gram. No heft.

Looks like a winner for a travel razor. Much better than the single blade Gillettes from India with the swivel heads.

Saturday morning:

L’Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash
Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
Wilkinson TTO/Wilkinson day 7
Lea Menthol SC
Prep ASB
Alt Innsbruck AS Splash

Although this blade has reached the end of the road I can’t complain at all because it performed like a champion all week and gave me a great BBS shave even today. For tomorrow I have a choice - either another Wilkinson or a Rapira. The Lea Menthol cream smells so nice, it’s so easy to lather, and its menthol effect feels so good. As always a good massage with the Prep cools and soothes the skin as well as invigorates it. The Alt Innsbruck went on icy cold and I love the scent. Now the wife and I are going out for breakfast and then it’s beach time! ;)

The Roller Guard is interesting.
There is virtually no blade gap and it would probably do better with a shim.
I did my standard 3 pass and on my normal two touch-up spots, I didn't use any soap or Prep, just the water coming from the showerhead.
It makes no difference when you are using soap but if there is no soap, this is where you actually feel "smoothness".
(Which if you think about it - it stands to reason)

Thanks @Chrisvo for the head and handle

SOTD:
Beautiful shave today, another stunning performance from the fatip piccolo, definitely without question my favourite razor, it cuts through hair like a hot knife through butter.

A stunning performance from the omega 49 and the malt n myrtle, this brush does very well with hard soaps, but id recommend face lathering for the first few shaves until the bristles soften a bit.

The Wilkinson sword blade was perfectly sharp even after its 5th use, and paired with the Fatip gave me a perfect BBS shave after two passes with a few touch ups.

The Brut by faberge is a fantastic aftershave, so glad we still find tons of it in South Africa, and its dirt cheap too!
