SOTD:
A beautiful shave this morning, a fast one too, going to the military fair at the Voortrekker monument so i was in a bit of a rush.

The aristocrat is a great mild razor, perfect for fast shaving, in fact theres no noticeable difference in the time it takes me to shave with this razor compared to a cartridge razor.

Arko performed amazingly, such a great shave stick, and very long lasting.

The feather was plenty sharp to cut through all the stubble, definitely a world class blade.

Razor: gillette aristocrat barber-pole 1948
Blade: feather hi-stainless (29)
Soap: arko shave stick
Aftershave balm: aquaous cream
Aftershave: status for men.

(Please excuse the incorrect image, didnt have time to take a new photo)

Morning all! Workers day shave: Vintage Ever - Ready Pat 1912, Custom Badger Brush*, Dr Jons Hydra soap, Floid Afrershave #Wetshaving #sotd

Superb shave! Incredible lather and fantastic citrus scent form the soap. Super smooth!

Have a great day, stay safe, and keep on shaving!

*Been chatting to a new turner. He is still getting to grips with making brushes. This handle came out really nice. Been a while since I use the bog 28mm knot and it is fantastic! So much lather! :)

Despite the Minora blade being almost at the end it still worked surprisingly well, but it was tugging quite a bit during my second pass. The Lush Life is a hell of a nice soap from Gilly’s - the scent is refreshing with a mixture of lime, bergamot, and some other notes which I cannot really describe accurately. The lather was so rich as well as slick, and its menthol effect felt great. The Prep makes one of the best balms I ever had and my aftershave of choice today was Aqua Velva. My BBS mission was accomplished!

Except for the Aqua Velva this was mainly a proudly South African shave! :)

Lekker shaves guys.
Here is my first SOTD for May 2019:

Bundu-bar. Rubbed the conditioner side on and left on my beard before i started. Rinsed it off and also used the conditioner as a SS. And that did impress me. I really like the scent of rooibos and spicy citrus. It produced a really nice and slick lather. Id definitely use this on all my badger and boar brushes because it softened the bristles so much.

Acca Kappa horse hair brush.

Eckard custom straight razor

Fino as balm

Old spice whitewater as

Loved it! Hope you all have a good day.

This was a great shave in two easy passes but I’ll be watching how this 7 AM performs because the previous ones were relatively poor longevity wise. The Grapefruit Menthol soap from OSP should have been named Orange something or other because although it’s a very nice scent, there’s much more of an orange scent than a grapefruit one, at least to my nose. The lather it gave me was so rich, thick, and dense, the menthol effect was very strong, and the postshave feeling was so comfortable. The Lucky Tiger balm felt so cooling as well as moisturizing, and the Alcolado Glacial splash gave me a terrific icy cold blast. The wife loves the Aramis on me - and so do I. BBS as BBS could be!
