Tried something different today. Actually read the side of the Prep cream and followed the instructions! Used it as a shaving cream and it was terrible!

Brush was a Razorock The Bruce and I couldn't get it to lather at all. Just a very slick coating on the face. Razor was a Gillette Big Boy loaded with a Super Max blade. It worked, but skin was feeling a bit sensitive and used Nivea for a post shave balm.

Loadshedding was twice today, so 5 hours without electricity. And naturally our generator broke 2 weeks ago on a routine test and will likely be fixed as soon as they stop loadshedding.

Have not posted in ages! But just received a new addition so here goes

Parker Variant Adjustable NEW
Godrej cream NEW
Always Prep
And a new bees wax Balm
Razor felt lighter in my hand compared to my previous, almost more balanced?
Started on 3 and then 2 and 1 ATG third pass, very smooth on 1.
Apologies for the additional pic, forgot to add in first pic.

Ouch JeGreen. The loadshedding has hit you hard. Prep does not work well as a shave cream. Great as a pre / post shave, but not really as a shave cream.

Loadshedding... Color me skeptical, more of a ransomware to the entire country. Approve the bailout again or else, pay higher prices or else. Lovely alternatives, great for business and excellent economy injections...Having a laugh at the millions stolen that turned into billions over a very short period.

I'm growing weary by each loadshat, empty promise and corrupt lie. The future is bright, but where?

Nice shave @Shaver BBS, Jegreen!

@Jegreen I thought of using the Prep as a brushless cream but I had second thoughts.

Great shave! Glad you enjoyed the variant! :) Setting 3.5 feels the best for me.

Thursday morning’s planned shave:

L’Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash
Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
Goodfella/Derby day 4
Mama Bear Lemon Ice SS
Prep ASB
Henri & Victoria Bergamot Vetiver AS Splash
Dolce & Gabbana EdT

It’s been a long time since I’ve used this soap. It’s actually quite nice if I remember correctly. The Prep also needs some love from me again because it’s so awesome. This aftershave from Henri et Victoria has been sitting around for a few years and it’s very enjoyable.

Thanks Mo!

This is one of the few Mama Bear soaps that I can actually say I like. It smells nice, it lathers very well, and the menthol effect is good. Its postshave care is also fairly good. Did you know that Claude Pilon, the owner of Henri et Victoria lives around two hours by car from me? His products are pretty good!

Lovely shaves yesterday Gents and this morning JHBBlade.

@Jeff, soap is good but I find the Balm a little greasy. I need to try one of there Menthol soaps.

Thanks Thug and River,

Sweet shave this morning Thug.

I've been really enjoying my Sheffield steels. Joseph Rodgers must be a good shave too.

..... On a side note. I'm really enjoying the massive backbone of the body shop synthetic brush. It gives as good a face scrub as my scrubbiest boar even though it's tips are more like a Daga brush than a shaving brush. (Jeff..... ..Should you be wondering...... "Daga" is the local slang for mortar used in building, a Daga brush is a big boar bristle block brush that you use for wetting plaster etc)

Which prompts a question are there any more civilised synthetic brushes out there with similar backbone to the body shop brush ?

The older gen synthetics were very scrubby like this. Mist or the newer sy thetics use the Plisson style fibres and are much softer.

Nice shaves Gents

Prep
Gillette 1916 Pocket Edition
(I think - @Chrisvo, please feel free to correct)

My Grandfathers birth razor.
That's all he shaved with - Prep and a razor
This should have been Mondays shave but it only arrived on Tuesday and yesterday I had an very early meeting.
I wasn't going to wait a year to use it

Wow! Nice one Clouds. There is a Prep shaving soap sold in Italy. Performs quite nice.
