Hey, nice one Cl;ouds. I've seen those razors around, but I didn't buy them becasue of the blade modification required.

Thanks RVT
The blade mod was the main reason that I bought one - how to do it easily and consistently.
Lets keep shaving interesting ;)

Great shaves your side.
Interesting razor that Famex. You turn the "cage" around to change the agressiveness. How old is it?

I don't know the exact age unfortunately. You don't need to turn the base plate around though. The comb guard acts like a spring and further tightening reduces blade exposure and loosening up increasing the exposure. Very clever design.

jegreen wrote:Thanks Chrisvo. Your razor rotation is always interesting. I've been using the same rotation now for a few months and dug out a few that I haven't used in ages.

This morning a BBS shave with a Hoffritz slant. The Yaqi brush has that typical Tuxedo characteristic of a stiff, boar-like backbone and the soft badger-like tips. The Pannacrema Pure 2O is my favourite Italian croap and one of my top soaps. The Polsilver blade performed very well and the slant wiped off the stubble with no fuss. A very enjoyable shave and a great way to get the day going!

You're welcome jegreen. I enjoy the different shave each razor gives.

That Hoffritz slant is a beaut!

Thats what I also thought when I first saw one.
Been looking at that big auction site but they don't seem to come up too often.

Thanks RVT, Clouds, Thug, Chrisvo.

@Clouds - if I remember correctly the safety bar Segal is quite hard to find and that handle is fantastic. I've got the open comb version (you can find it with a search on the forum here) and after destroying a pair of scissors cutting up blades I retired the razor.

The Segals are cheap, I would think because of the blade mod.
I made a stupid offer for mine which was accepted and the postage was actually more than the razor.
It was NOS, still in the box with the instruction leaflet, the 49c price tag, the cardboard replica blade and a box of blades (which can stay unopened)
