The Wilkinson blade surprised me because it held up well enough for all three passes so I was able to get a hell of a nice BBS shave but tomorrow morning I’m going to change it. The MITA soap I used is the regular version - it has that lovely citrusy/tropical scent that I enjoy so much, it gives magnificent lather which is super rich as well as slick, and a great menthol sensation along with the typical fantastic Stirling postshave care. It’s so hard to beat the Prep - in fact it became my favorite balm. My darling wife gave me the Fougere Santal aftershave which smells so beautiful and gives plenty of menthol cooling as well. Today we’re going to the cemetery to visit my Dad and I’m going to say the memorial prayers for him.

Great shave Jeff! All the best for the memorial prayer.

Thanks Mo. :)

Howzit, Gents!

Great shaves as usual, and hope you are all well.

Still enjoying shaving everyday, but somehow I've lost the passion in picking which gears to use for each shave recently. For the past few months I have been shaving exclusively with Merkur 34C HD and Astra SP, using either the Stirling Mountain Man or Stirling Sharp Dressed Man soap, alternating among 3 synthetic brushes: RazoRock 400 Plissoft (aluminum handle), RazoRock Snowman Tuxedo Plissoft, and The Body Shop synthetic (the dark maroon wooden handle with black fibre version). I don't use much aftershaves these days, but should I need some soothing, I'd just turn to L' Oreal Men Expert Hydra Energetic AS balm.

Don't know where the passion the enthusiasm had gone. I miss the old days and the old me. Shaves these days are still pleasant and enjoyable, but the fun and excitement are just no longer there.

Hope you Gents are still keeping your passion and fire alive and going! Stay well!

Hey, welcome back Shiomoto. Long time my friend. It doesn't always have to be the different products. As long as you are enjoying the experience, keep going as you are. :)

Menthol Monday:

Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
Super Speed/new Shark
Stirling Glacial Margaritas in the Arctic SS
Stirling Glacial Unscented ASB
B&M Arctique AS Splash
Bleu de Chanel EdP

The regular MITA soap I used yesterday is pretty cold but this Glacial version which came out around three years ago is another story - it has three times as much menthol in it so it’s a bona fide face freezer. The scent is the same, the lather is just as rich, but perhaps even a bit slicker than the regular one, and God help anyone who can’t tolerate intense menthol because the freeze pummels your face immediately and gets stronger with each pass. The Glacial Unscented balm is also plenty cold as well as soothing and very moisturizing. The Arctique aftershave smells lovely but it never interferes with any fragrance, and it’s lethally cold, yet it feels so good on the skin. The new Shark blade from Egypt helped to give me an awesome three pass BBS shave!

Wishing you all a great week!

Tuesday morning:

Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
Super Speed/Shark day 2
Ingram SC
Prep ASB
Alt Innsbruck AS Splash

The Ingram cream I used this morning is from Egypt and it sells for such cheap money that even someone on the tightest budget would be able to afford it. It’s got a nice minty, slightly medicinal scent like the UK version with the same rich, dense lather but a stronger menthol sensation. The Prep is now officially my favorite balm, and the Alt Innsbruck smells delightful, although the wife can’t stand it. Two passes were good enough for a great BBS shave - these Shark blades are among the best in Egypt.

Nice shave Jeff!

Im a big fan of Russian blades, especially the Voskhods. On Sunday I went to our local Checkers and saw some Minora blades on the shelf. The last time I saw these blades was when I was still a boy.

I immediately bought a tuck and tried it out yesterday for the first time. Man I was impressed! It gives a very similar feel to the Voskhods. Mild yet effiecient.

Indeed. GIllette makes Minora blades (and many other brands including Astra, Nacet etc) at the PPI factory in St Petersberg. There were rumours circulating that the factory was going to close, however it has been running for a while now. Gillette also manufactures DE razor blades in Brazil.

Hi All,

Today's Shave:

Razor: Fatip Grande
Blade: Astra SP
Cream: Lea Menthol (The last bit)
Aftershave: Proraso Green Splash

Excellent shave! Super Smooth finish. Very nice menthol coolness from the cream, and the aftershave. The Fatip needs a very light touch.
