I still have to sort out the tenon and mortise fit. I don’t have a snug fit. I know how to solve the problem I just need to make time to do it. I'm happy with the filling of the crack on the stem and I completely sanded the stumble and gave it a new coat with some leather dye and polished it with carnauba wax. Not completely finished but I did have a smoke with it already and I can see we will have many "stoep" chats with this one. Here is some progress on this beauty.

Very nice Bles. Were did you get the carnuaba wax from? I use the Savanelli wax but it has its limits.

Thanks Stubble. Unfortunately you won't find it that easily here in SA. Basil from SHSA managed to order me some through his business. A small piece will last you for years. PM me your address and I'll gladly pop some in the post. ;) That’s what we pipe smokers are there for…to help a buddy in distress. :D

Thanks Thug. I have two nose warmers I want to start restoring this week-end. The one is a Dr Plumb Dinki and the other a Fresh one of which the stem broke badly but I was thinking of converting it to a p-lip. I will post some photos on my progress. ;)

Thanks Jaquers. I like the bull dog covered in leather but the stem looks like it is in a terrible state. :oo
