In time I will up my game with the SMOTD foto's.

Next project is probably a proper pipe rest...

Love the stand!!

Found a stand. My wife say it is a "kaggel kakkie". Aka something useless and ugly. But I like it so I will use it.

Lovely smoke. The Mac Barren tobaccos are not bad at all. I have the Modern mixture which is quite a mild smoke. I must say the kaggel kakkie elephant looks much better than this....

Its Icy all over so a warm English blend and some Red Merlot to pair.

Peterson D15 Churchwarden
Wesley's Latakia Blend no 55

I made some new tampers Yesterday.

The tamper looks great. I'm not much of a Latakia lover. Latakia to me smells like burnt rubber. I would rather smoke it if it is blended with other tobacco. But hey that’s only me. Go for it if it’s your thing. I know quite some gents who like a good latakia.

The weather in EC is cold and windy today. We were board and made a road trip to Morgansbay for lunch. The wind is nasty so had to hide a bit to get a okay puff going.

Nice relaxing and a great view from the cliffs.

What a lovely view for a puff. You sounded desperate to smoke that pipe of yours....

SMOTD (Sorry, no photo... :oo )
Lorenzo Monie & Lanco Oom Paul with Peterson Sweet Killarney.

I like my Oom Paul shape pipes. I loved how they sit, how they look, how they “hang”, how they have a heritage, their noticed by others; they’re not all that common…

I'm a fan of Petersen tobaccos with Sunset Breeze and Irish whiskey my favourites. OK, then I must add the only reason I’m a Peterson fan is because this brand and Mac Barren is some of the only “good” international brands freely available at Tobacco shops in South Africa. Yes there are others like Borkum Riff and Holland House of which I don’t like the Borkum Riff and to be honest haven’t tried any Holland House as I am scared it will disappoint me as the Borkum Riff did. I won't say Sweet Killarney is another favourite but, on the other hand, it's not really as bad as some of the reviews make it. I like the sweetness, very nice room note, good nicotine kick and the fact that it burns down to dottle.

Interesting one there BLES. Jus tout of interest, does the water bubbly pipe that the Arabs use smoke the same as a normal pipe?

from my younger days - the hubbly bubbly smoke was temperature cooler, but that water filtered nothing - the gloop (cant recall the name of the tobacco snot mix that you use) was high in tar, low in taste. I shudder to think of the damage I inflicted on my lungs, but know that the 7 years of hard cardio training helped a bit

Yes, I think a lot depends on what is being put inside the bubbly pipe. From my University days, I can tell you that friends were trying anything and everything.. :oo

My second attempt at a pipe restoration.

The pipe is a Peterson K Briar.

Some nice Wesley's English blend tobacco to test it with.
