Yes, I had a couple of bowls this weekend.

I started with the Olive Poker and with one of your samples (can't remember which but I did make a note). I finished that off on Saturday and then chose the Wesleys Full Gold which was less harsh tasting than the sample I originally chose.

I'll try the Briar Poker during the week with another couple of samples.

Sweeeet.... :D

It's been quite some time I had a puff on a pipe. I've still got a lot of choirs to finish at home but as soon as things settle down I will kick of my shoes and pour me a whiskey and relax with a bowl or two. :old

So I've been puffing away on the various samples that I got from Bles and purchased at Wesleys and I've started to build up some nice carbon deposits in the bowl of my pipes.

As of yet, I still haven't decided on any particular "flavour" that tickles my fancy but I am putting a tick next to those I like and a cross against those I don't.

What I can say is that certain blends are lot less harsh than others.

I've been chatting with Jonathan Taylor and have ordered myself a new pipe from him.

I'm hoping it will be finished in time for Christmas or my birthday in December. Kind of a like a "To Thug, From Thug" present.

It will be A Devil Anse syle made out of Morta with a 22mm hole in the bowl. Stem will be orange acrylic.

Acrylic rods - I've chosen 2nd from left, which actually matches my Iain Crichton Tuxedo shaving brush.

Those look cool!
By the way, is it safe to use acrylic for the stem? Won’t the heat from the smoke cause it to heat up.

Thanks Mikaar.

Acrylic is probably the most common stem material used for custom pipe makers. It's also mated to delrin which is what fits inside the actual pipe.
