Fellow South African reporting in!

Postby CannotGrowABeard » Mon Dec 10, 2018 3:56 pm

Howsit everyone!

I was introduced to this forum by Bundubeard and it's so awesome to be a part of a local wet shaving community!

My name is CannotGrowABeard - CGAB for short.
I chose that name because... well... I can't grow a beard because I'm too busy shaving all the time.

I'm 31 years old and I currently live in Cape Town with my wife, my Golden Retriever named Penny and our 3 cats.

I've been wet shaving with a DE for about 3 years now and my collection is growing slowly but surely.
Hopefully by being a member on these forums I can expand my collection with any artisan products I find on here!

Happy shaving and see you out there!

:o:

Welcome CGAB!

I’m one of the few non-South Africans in this group. I’m an Israeli guy living in Canada now.

Oh awesome!

My wife is Canadian too :) She was born in Toronto but her parents are South African.

How is Canada? Isn't it cold there at this time of year?

It’s very cold here in Montreal where I live now. Toronto is somewhat milder. I think overall that Canada is a beautiful country, the people are very nice but the economy..................is unfortunately poor at the present time. When I left Israel in 1990 we first moved to Greece where we lived for 15 years. Then we moved here and at first business was fine, but then it really dropped off. By the way, my wife has relatives in Johannesburg, Benoni, as well as in Bloemfontein. We were supposed to go and visit them right about now however due to an unfortunate change of events we’ve to postpone the trip until March.

Really? That's quite strange - could you shed some light as to why the economy isn't so hot at the moment?
Sorry to hear about your unfortunate change of events :(
I'm sure they will love to see you once you are able to visit them.

Thanks RVT!
By the way, that Omega Pro 49 I got from you the other week is fantastic! :o:::
And of course it's raining in Durban - it's Durban after all! :P

@CGAB It’s mostly politically driven especially in the province of Quebec where I live as well as the Maritime provinces. Our present prime minister changed some laws which were not conducive to the economy. I’m only 64 and I was forced to retire two years ago, not that I mind it.

Welcome, fellow Capetonian. You will have a blast on here, neat group of people decimating stubble on a mostly daily basis.
