Agree. I would also like to put my brush in there to soak...

Excellent recommendations Gents - thank-you! Will have a chat with the potter and see if we can incorporate this with the next batch :thumbup:

The reason for the brush holder / spout was that that these were the days before plumbed running water. The old scuttles allowed you to use one vessel to soak your brush and warm your soap.

Fair enough, RVT. I fill my scuttle's 'jacket' with hot water anyway (plumbed water ;) ) and then need to fill the inner too, so I can soak my brush. Before I bowl lather, I then need to dump all the water that's in the bowl. If I can soak my brush in the spout, I can leave the water in the scuttle's jacket and just start lathering.

If the lather is too dry, it is a bit of a hassle to add one drop of water at a time, by sticking my finger down the spout. If I can dip the tip of my brush
into a nice big spout, it would make my day. I am seriously not dissing the existing equipment, since we are really fortunate to have such proactive suppliers, but IMHO, little things can make a big difference.

Ok, I understand what you mean. I also soak my brush in the upper part, but then pour the water into my steel mug. So I use the water from there if I need to add in to the scuttle when lathering. :thumbup:

I purchased RVT's white scuttle and I love to use. However, it has one issue. It needs a stopper for the spout.

The American made ones sometimes use stoppers and also had a small hole drilled at the top of the inner bowl so that you could slightly dip the scuttle and let some of the warm water into the bowl. Quite clever.

That is also an excellent modification.

Turkish Delight has arrived - Hobby Aftershave Cologne / Lotion
Hobby Aftershave Cologne - Made in Turkey (250ml)

A small piece of Turkish Culture - KOLONYA

In Turkey, it is an important tradition to offer Cologne during guest visits, on bus trips and in restaurants. Its offering during holiday family gatherings and on funeral days has also become somewhat of a ritual. If you should visit a Turkish house, the first thing that you will be offered is Cologne and candy. This is meant to refresh a guest who is just off a trip and to help eliminate the germs that the outdoor conditions leave on hands. The candy that is offered along with the Cologne, represents the Turkish belief that a sweetened mouth will ensure the start of a sweet conversation.

* Refreshes your skin after shaving with a lasting and pleasant smell
* Traditional Barber Shop Scent with a hint of fresh citrus
* Imported from Turkey

Will certainly post the ingredients list soonest, the scent is somewhat subdued but still in keeping with the Pinaud profile of being Woody, Earthy with a hint of Citrus. I would personally describe it as being a warm green masculine scent with a true barbershop scent undertone, synonymous with Pinaud.
