Okay!

I've sat on my arse with this one. First I misplaced the box of goodies, then I just sat on my arse. All very embarrassing.

This Saturday, I want to post this box to the next person in the pass around. First Johannesburger to put their name down here gets the box. (I'm in Joburg). Failing that, then first person on the list.

I've added some Feather Professional blades to the box for added fun.

I'm looking at 6 International Tracking numbers on my desktop that have left their respective countries and have not been logged into SA yet. The first of which left early in April.

They have been on a go-slow since the last week in April, I have resent three orders from my online shop via courier.

SAPO is an absolute let down
I ordered a brush from AliExpress in April that arrived at JIMC about 2 weeks later. Then it disappeared into SAPO’s system and hasn’t been found yet. When I asked at my local post office they told me it probably hasn’t arrived in South Africa yet

However the service from AliExpress was excellent, it was too late for me to open a dispute so I sent a message to them telling them I haven’t received it yet and they immediately agreed to send another one and asked for my address and sent me a tracking number a few hours later.

I read about a bus drivers strike in Japan where the protesting drivers carried on driving their routes as normal and just refused to accept fares from passengers. Within a short time they made their point and resolved their issues...SAPO could try doing that here, but they’re too incompetent to do their jobs in the first place.

Sorry for the thread hijack. These ongoing issues with our postal service really irritate me

We don't have a postal system in RSA, only couriers. That line of thought will save you head and heartache, peeling dollars from your rand infested pocket, keeping the RoE in mind, the peeling process is painful.

Mmmmmmh, sorry, by post I meant courier. Tracked courier.

SAPO is its own story.

On that note a friend of mine has lived in the UK for 6 years. She needed her passport renewed, and was told to post it to their dept of home affairs with forms and payment and they'd send the new passport back by post. She laughed hysterically, and explained to them that she's South African and that it would not work. It took them some time to convince her that all would be okay.

If I wasn't such a chicken heart I'd join in but we never know with SAPO. They've already given me more than my fair share of aggravation.

DS, can we perhaps get a list up to have better control of the movement of this pass-around?

Sounds good but as you say, we don’t know who is still active. In chronological order according to “I’m in” it would be:
1. JHBBlade
2. DaveP
3. C4Chucky
4. Gaza365
5. Bles
6. Riaanb
7. Mikaar
8. Bundubeard

So Dave is next… ;)

If we take a year per person we will be concluded in 8 years time with this pass-around. :oo   No, on a serious note I think we should get this business concluded in order for Juan to get his gear back. I haven’t read any posts of C4Chucky, Gaza365 and RiaanB in a very long time. I think it would be safe to mark them as none active members?

I would like to make a proposal in order to speedily get this pass-around back home safe.

Proposal: JHBBlade and DaveP arrange amongst each other to exchange the parcel. When Dave is finished, he let me know and I’ll arrange to collect it from him via the driver I previously sent to him. I know Mikaar is next on the list but Bundubeard is fairly close to me so if accepted, me and Jaco can arrange to exchange the parcel and then when Jaco is finished he can sent it off to Mikaar before going back home to Juan.
What do you guys think? This might work. As rule 1 of the pass-around clearly states: It's a gentlemen’s agreement amongst fellow gentlemen (your word is your honor etc) :old
