A PHOTO YOU TOOK TODAY

Postby BLES » Thu May 19, 2016 9:49 am

Gentlemen, as suggested in my POTD topic under the tobacco section we’ve decided to start this topic where you can post a photo you took today ...or yesterday  to share with us. It doesn’t have to be shaving related at all. You can make use of a “mik en druk” cell phone or fancy camera it doesn’t matter as long as it is taken by you. :D

As we spoke about sunrise this morning and the idea for “a photo you took today” were born with a sunrise in view I think it is proper to start off with this although it was taken last year in Benoni when I attended a course. It is a sunset over OR Tambo airport.

Wow, those are beautiful photos. I also have a 35mm camera but it’s been quite a while since I took photos with it. Wow you bring back some good childhood memories. Belief it or not but we’ve stayed in Wolwefontein from 1973 to 1976. It was only the police station, hotel train station and few houses.

Thanks Bles
one think I can confirm for you is that since 1976 they have not built anything new.

if anyone ever goes to the area I can recommend the Wolwefontein Hotel for a night stay(it reopened last year Oct. there is not much to do there (note it is in the middle of no-where)
but man the food is good, breakfast which consists of "moer koffie", 2 sausages on fried onions,, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, half a home made bread with butter and jams was only R30

Aaahhh Karoo kos! We stayed in the house next to the Police Station. My dad was the SAP Station Commander. Good to know the hotel is open again.
