lladets wrote:Hi to all. My daughter has just returned from a short visit to Italy and she brought back some goodies that I ordered online from an Italian supplier.

1 x Razorock Puros -- scents of tobacco, musk, leather and vanilla. Very pleasant with a thick and creamy lather.
1 x TFS (Tcheon Fung Sing) Sandalwood- (a bit light on the sandalwood but a pleasant shave)
1 x TFS Sweet Orange --still to be tried
1 x TFS Menthol Eucalyptus-- still to be tried

TFS is the manufacturer of the excellent Figaro shaving soap which I have previously bought from my Italian barber friend Tony in Pretoria.

Mail call from a tradde with a shaver in the USA.

Always wanted to try Barrister & Mann, and Mickey Lee's. The scents are awesome.

Mickey Lee's : The Kracke: Very nice scent and colouration on this soap. Aqua / marine type scent
Barrister & Mann Seville: (The scent on this almost identical to our own Durban Bay Rum, with a hit of Citrus lemon).
Barrister & Mann Reserve Spice: High class scent on this one. Very nice spicy type scent.
Barrister & Mann Reserve Cool: Very bold scent on this one. Quite strong of the puck. Very fresh.

The Kracken will be unleashed for tomrrow's shave :)

Superb soaps RVT.

B&M are top notch and Seville seems to be a favourite amongst wet-shavers.

Thanks Thug. I wasn't sure what to expect on the Seville scent. B & M list is as Barbershop, the scent sticker says Oakmoss, Citrus, Herb. However, I swear it (to my nose) it smells exactly like our own soap. :)

@RVT - those soaps are going to be very good! The logo on the Seville made me think of Declaration Grooming.

I face lather 90% of the time and my RVT stainless steel bowl is all I need, but when I started with wet shaving I read up on shaving bowls and there were 2 that stood out for me - the Holy Grail from SV and the Aesop shaving bowl. I treated myself to the Holy Grail last year and I've used it 3 times, so you'd think I'd have learnt my lesson there.

Last Friday I was the afternoon in Cape Town and had a bit of time to spare and was walking around found this shop on the street selling coffee, clothes and men's facial products. And there sitting on a shelf was the Aesop shaving bowl, which is now sitting on my shelf.

Ordered a DE razor stand from Spain.

Guillermo makes some wonderful stands from Ipe wood, acrylic and stainless steel.

The holes for the razors on this one accommodate the 16mm handle of my Guerrilla.
