Hmm, no dealings with them just yet, the soap seems reasonably priced, but then I remember what a good product RVTs soaps are and are in the same price bracket :) I may order a soap though to show my support and have a test.

While I enjoyed the super max green.., @ R20/ tuck, I think that's quite steep,

Some of the other prices do not seem wholly unreasonable but are not the most competitive choices either.

This is not the first site I have seen offering a subscription service (the shave company) , and I certainly see the appeal, knowing you get what you need when you need it, this is how I order my cat food online and it's great, but in the DE market alone there is so much variety, that I would hate to be stuck into the same thing day after day, there are so many great soaps and blades to sample alone!

But if this site serves as a gateway to bring more people into the world of wet shaving then good on the site owners and I wish them much success. TSC introduced me to the world of wet shaving and thank goodness for that!

I saw one of their olx ads a few weeks ago and sent an inquiry and have yet to receive a reply, so I'm not impressed. Also agree on their prices, some just seem very high.

I've often seen Metlerkamps advertising shaving supplies on BoB. Was in Knysna the weekend and it was on my list of places to see. Very interesting shop and full of things and gadgets for the house and mostly the kitchen. Asked them for shaving supplies and was dutifully pointed to this stand.

Quite a lot of well priced Proraso products, and a few brands I haven't heard of. I got there just before closing time and had a salesperson trying to rush me, so left empty handed. But worth a visit again.

For those of you who are interested in honing. Apparently King Stones are decent. I haven't tried them but I found a local vendor the other day.

Some of the GFT hard soaps have as the 1st ingredient Sodium Palmate. Some had Potassium palmate but these ones didn't have the wooden bowl and only came in the puck.

I learnt my lesson with Crabtree & Evelyn and wont' be re-visiting the Sodium Palmate scenario..

The Castle Forbes stuff was on the top shelf and the woman wasn't keen on helping me out by getting it down.

I started a little shaving business due to the fact that wet shaving literally saved my skin!

I spent probably hundreds of thousands of rands on dermal abrasions, facials, creams, ointments etc.
5 shaves with a DE razor and my face was sorted.

I believe you 100%. Most guys with 'normal' skin don't really understand this, but we've received some amazing feedback. There are guys who comes to visit and I literally see the improvement, it actually amazes me. I do think its important to do the whole shebang though, one client of mine is quite adamant the soap plays the biggest part, possibly so in his case, but correct brush, blade, soap and razor will sort you out best.

Cool. I'm waiting on them to get the Proraso red splash...

Yesterday I bought The Proraso red splash at the Sorbet mens store in the Brooklyn Mall in Pretoria. They stock almost the full range of Proraso products. The red splash has a fantastic fragrance almost like the red shave cream byt more pronounced.........very good stuff! :old

Just noticed that Boar & Badger has already featured in this topic.......doesn't hurt to punt a new guy for the benefit of all us shavers?

I'm afraid not :(
Razorock is based in Canada if I'm not mistaken though and Stirling is in the U.S so it would probably be best if you bought from that side of the world.
