Enter the land of lather

Postby RiverValleyTrading » Tue Jan 17, 2017 11:42 am

Carrie Seibert from Soap Commander has written a book on how to make shave soap. Looks very interesting.

So if you have the time, I would be more than welcome to give your soap a test drive

(Just be aware that Chris Cullen from Catie's Bubbles said it took him a couple of years to the get the fomulation just right  )

I too, will work as an unpaid test-mule for enterprising soap makers![SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES][WINKING FACE]

After investing in a small pro coffee roaster setup and learning how to roast coffee to perfection, making my own soap would be my next project, but it's likely to be many years before I have the "frei zeit" as the Germans put it.

So I gifted a copy of teh book the book to our soap maker (one of the pre-requisites of this book is that you must already be familiar with the basics of soap making).

She studied through it, and today suggested a change to our current recipe that should result in a much thicker and richer lather. We are going to do some tests in the coming weeks. Will keep you posted.
