Hairgum shaving soap and cream

Postby BLES » Tue Jan 17, 2017 10:07 am

For those of you who haven’t seen it yet are that Clicks is now stoking the French made Hairgum products.
The soap looks a bit on the expensive side as it retail for R225 for a 50g tin. :o The fragrance is mint / rosemary.
I’m still weighing my options on this one….

Interesting! Shave soap is a bit costly for the small tin. I wonder how it performs..

Ouch! Why doesn't Clicks think about this and stock South African products... Even Mr Cobbs soaps are better priced than this..

It seems soaps made in France are a bit in the higher end price range…. Remember the Martin De Candre post DS started last year? Was it R1200 for a 200g? I don’t think it is fair to compare this soap with MDC but I just think the import cost from France to SA influence the price ridiculously. I agree with Chris. It would be great to rather see our own SA artisan soaps on the shelves of stores like Clicks. :D :D

Local Producers will need slicker packaging to make it onto Clicks shelves.

I've been looking for some nice aluminium tins for decanting my own soap, but to no avail. Aluminium says old school but can still be neat clean and slick.

Looks promising - anybody picked some up yet? I do agree, we need our local artisans in the larger chain stores, but for all that is good and pure not Cobbs (ptoooie) I'd much rather shave with a mixture of urine and ash than support him.

Was only pointing out that even his extremely priced soaps are better priced than this, which I thought says a lot.

Getting on that mixture of urine and ash right away! TBA!

I also like the metal look. I'm sure you've seen the ones I use.

You can try tinpac or canit if you need large amounts.
Most of these tin manufacturers want you to purchase 1000s

But I've also seen fairly decent ones in the China malls. Some are printed with some cool vintage designs as well.

PS. Not trying to solicit. Simply posting an example of the tins I use for RR. If this is deemed as breaking the rules, admin may please remove the image.

Nice tin there chucky. Thanks for the supplier names (though 1000 tins is a huge minimum order quantity! )
