L'occitane Shave soap

Postby dini » Mon Jul 11, 2016 10:23 am

I have been cracking along with this soap for the last few shaves now and wondering who else has used it .

- Easy to load
- Easy to lather
- something I have noticed is that the lather doesn't really explode as much as other soaps but this does not detract from its effectiveness
- nice , simple scent that is not overpowering
- great protection and glide .
- the price is surprisingly reasonable for a soap of this quality
- excellent post shave feel , no drying out or anything .

Just wish they would make the puck a bit smaller so that it fits in a mug with out the need to grate the edges .

Yes, agree with you there, Very good soap. Good lather, and I like the scent. The L'Occitane container is very expensive, but it's very shiny

I bought a puck about 4-5 years ago (the store ladies were quite convincing in their arguments :D ). I wonder if the soap is still good to be used, it's still plastic wrapped. Any ideas on shelf life? Doesn't have a POA symbol. TIA

Yes, it should still be fine. I have plenty of Old soaps that still work well. The scent does fade away over time though. If it is still in the wrapper, then it should have lost too much of the scent.

It will be fine. I'm using a 60 year old puck of Williams shaving soap and it performs great.

Wow! 60 years! I also saw PaulH did a shave with a puck of Old Spice from the 1960's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8q57J3hXx4
