So an update and to provide a laugh as to how long this is taking me to get going with straight shaving

Read about this on a few places and decided to try it

I actually have been sitting the last few days and practising using my feather SS without a blade , left hand and right hand to build up muscle memory . It is astounding how clumsy my left hand initially was . Would have been a blood bath and probably hack off a ear lobe or something .

The difference is noticeable every day though as I pay more attention to pressure and angle . And they say , you cant teach an old dog new tricks .

I cheat and use my right hand for the entire shave, I can use left but it takes longer. Perhaps try a Proguard blade first, very forgiving and helps to dial in technique, essentially a pro blade with a gaurd, can still bite!

Keep practising Dini, you'll get it right (or left)

Don't be discouraged by a few Nick's and scrapes. Stick with it dini.

So last night , snap a blade into the Feather and get to work . No bloodshed but its very patchy sort of shave , which requires the trusty old R41 to clean up .

It was at that point that I realised Feather Pro Guard blades are not meant for scraping of 5 day growth . :oo
